For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
Being crafted into a masterpiece doesn't happen over night... It implies that you were dreamt of long before you were made; you were a moment of inspiration when everything else seemed to be normal and dull. You, were the idea that sparked the creator to act on intuition and dream of who you would become, being perfectly designed for the role you would play in a beautiful mosaic.
How does that feel?
Now imagine this... You've been created (by your parents). You have the dreams and the destiny inside you but there is one problem. You're 1 day old and you've entered a whole new realm; you have no idea what it means to be in this space... like an unfinished mosaic, you enter the world as a piece in a pile of pieces trying to find "YOUR PLACE" in life.
You learn, you interact, you laugh, you cry, you love.
You begin this self-evolution process which isn’t about staying as you are, but about you finding "YOUR PLACE" in this life as an individual piece.
When you were born, you didn't know who you were going to be. You were just you, and you were thrusted into an unfinished mosaic, waiting for you to find your place.
Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”
So God created human beings in his own image.
In the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
Origins are important, they help define who you are and they give you an instant heritage and hopefully that means you get support system that is healthy and full of love (but by no means does this happen to everyone...we all know that).
As a society we use our origins to help us define who we are and who we aren't. When you know who your mom is and who is dad is, that gives you a sense a place, "I belong here". If you don't and you've been in foster care, and don't have a safe place where you know you fit in and you belong no matter what... that has a huge affect on us and how we grow up.
Even in a family if you are the odd child out and you never feel like you fit in, that causes you to view life differently.
Knowing where you came from helps you understand why your here. It gives a solid ground for you to grow from and a safe place to fall back to when you need help finding your place in life.
This can sometimes be one of the hardest things to do.
Taking stock of your life isn't easy...
You have to finally stop and look at your life and accept the good, the bad and the ugly. Who are you really.
What are the realities of your life that you try your hardest to run away from?
If you aren't able to answer that question, then finding where your place in life is will be hard.
If you're not able to accept your present self, then in no way will you find your future self. You will create someone that you think the world needs, when in fact, what the world is missing is you!
